Official Chickasaw County criminal records are supplied by government custodians, not by this private reference site. Court files belong with the Clerk of District Court in New Hampton. Sheriff-created incident, arrest, dispatch, booking, and jail records belong with the Chickasaw County Sheriff's Office. The contacts below route each request to the office that can answer it.

This Is Not a Government Office. Chickasaw County Criminal History is a private reference site. It cannot retrieve an official record, run an official background check, correct or remove an agency record, or accept an expungement filing.

Use the office that created or maintains the item:

  • Iowa criminal-history responses: Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Investigation, Records and Identification Unit
  • Police reports: the city or state agency whose officer created the report; New Hampton maintains a municipal police department, while the sheriff patrols Nashua, Fredericksburg, and several smaller communities
  • Sex offender registration questions: Chickasaw County Sheriff's Office at 641-394-3121; no separate registry appointment schedule is published
  • Expungement filings and court copies: Chickasaw County Clerk of District Court at the courthouse address above

The sheriff does not publish a separate records-request form or local fee schedule. A useful request identifies the record type, incident or case number if known, date and time range, location, involved agency, desired format, and requester contact details. Ask for a cost estimate before copying starts. The clerk is the correct counter for pleadings, docket documents, older cases, and certified court copies.
