Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected when someone visits Chickasaw County Criminal History, the reasons it may be used, and the limited situations in which it may be disclosed. Continued use of the website indicates acceptance of these privacy practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

Names, places, or other terms entered into a search tool are transmitted to the third-party company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. Chickasaw County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

A message sent to us may be retained so it can be answered. It is kept within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

Routine server and analytics records may collect technical facts when a page loads, including:

  • The date and time of a page view
  • The pages visited and the length of a visit
  • The device's IP address
  • The browser, version, operating system, and device type
  • The referring website, when one is available

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help show aggregate traffic patterns, such as which Chickasaw County record pages receive visits and where sessions end. Browser controls can block cookies. Some functions may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • Operate, maintain, and improve website performance
  • Route a search request to the selected partner service
  • Measure which resources visitors use
  • Diagnose errors, misuse, and other technical problems
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Chickasaw County Criminal History does not maintain, sell, or compile a personal criminal-record database. It publishes general directions to the Chickasaw County Sheriff, Clerk of District Court, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa Department of Corrections, and Iowa Sex Offender Registry. Official access and dissemination are governed by authorities such as the Iowa Open Records Law in Iowa Code chapter 22 and Iowa's criminal-history law in Iowa Code chapter 692. Visitor information is not assembled into a third-party criminal file or consumer report, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search boxes. Their own privacy policies govern the information submitted to them, including retention and sharing practices. We do not set or control those practices. Review the provider's terms and policy before entering a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the Chickasaw County government, Iowa court and agency portals, legal resources, or third-party search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read that policy before providing personal information.

Advertising companies may use their own technology to follow activity across websites and tailor ads. Such tracking occurs on systems controlled by those companies.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal information is not sold. Limited data may be available to:

  • Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
  • Search partners that process a query submitted through their tool
  • Advertising networks that serve ads on the website
  • Courts, law enforcement, or other public bodies when valid legal process requires disclosure

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect collected information. No internet-connected service can guarantee complete security, however. We work to reduce risk but cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized event will never occur.

Users Under 18

This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Information known to have been submitted by a minor will be deleted.

Your Data Rights

When applicable privacy law grants rights concerning personal data, those rights can include the ability to:

  • Confirm processing and request access to personal data
  • Request deletion of personal data supplied by the consumer
  • Receive covered data in a usable and portable format
  • Opt out of covered targeted advertising, data sales, or certain profiling
